Best of Photography 2016

All Winners, Honorable Mentions and Finalists of our 36th Annual Spring Photography Contest are featured in the hardcover Best of Photography 2016. Release Date: December 2016

Photographer’s Forum is pleased to showcase the photographs awarded First through Fourth Place in our 36th Annual Spring Photography Contest, co-sponsored by Sigma. Finalists who earned Honorable Mention are also listed here by name.

Photographers from the United States, Canada and around the world entered online as well as with prints and slides. Finalist images were selected by our photo editor, Nell Campbell, and went on to be reviewed by our judges. All the Finalist photographs can be seen on our website and are published in the hardcover book Best of Photography 2016 (December 2016).

Selecting the Top Awards and Honorable Mentions from among the many impressive photographs entered was a challenging task for our panel of judges, who reviewed all the Finalist photos online. All three judges are all professional photographers as well as college-level photography instructors: Leighton McWilliams, University of Texas at Arlington; Marcia Rubenstein, Brooks Institute; and William Snyder, Rochester Institute of Technology. The eight top-scoring photographs were awarded First through Fourth Place and a total of over $6,000 in awards was distributed to these top photographers. The next 100 selected photos earned Honorable Mention. Since 1980, Photographer’s Forum has awarded well over $300,000.00 in our photography contests.
